Samsung is still the most reliable manufacturer. Other brands release great drives that compete well with Samsung. However, be cautious with other manufacturers. The other manufacturers such as ADATA, Sabrent etc... release drives that stack up and compete well with Samsung, however over time, they often change components as a cost saving measure resulting in performance that is inferior to their originally released offering and not on par with Samsung.
