As an electrician, this is extremely unsafe to use a product rated higher than the amperage available. Not only is it a different receptacle, it is a huge fire hazard. Do not under any circumstances use a 40a range on a 30a circuit. Not only will the circuit breaker most like trip (hopefully) or it could cause a fire within your walls and burn your house down. Either purchase a 30a oven or upgrade your wiring.
