Hello, To lowering the resolution, **no** I don't think that does it b/c the screen has so much power going to the screen anyway. However, you can lower the brightness and get some extra hours out of the battery depending on how much you lower it. With normal word processing and some coding with low screen brightness I have pushed mine over 8 hours. All chromebooks to my understanding are measured at a certain brightness threshold, and this one gets really bright, it sucks the power up, but the screen is pretty awesome! Samsung is developing some power management updates last I heard, but if you need battery life all the other CB options out there are better. Best, Nicko Galaxy Chrome User **I still love this machine, battery issues and all.
