“Is the finger scanner the only way to open and close phone? The negative reviews about this feature is the deal breaker if there is no alternative. I would find it very frustrating. Otherwise the A50 would be suitable for me. Thanks”

This is not the only way to open the phone. There are the normal ways as well, such as a password, pass code, pin, etc. There is also a face scanner to unlock the phone as well.

A50 has facial recognition, fingerprint biometrics, but also PIN lockscreen. Very user friendly.
