• maybe they need you insert a specific sim they did the same with my sprint phone

• Take it to an actual Boost mobile shop. Ask the sales staff to insert a test sim into your s9+. see the results. the usa version unlocked s9+ supports gsm and cdma sim caeds in usa

• Did you request a boost mobile sim test? All they had to do was remove a working boost mobile sim from one of their phones and insert it into your unlocked usa s9+.. Do not take the words to heart. they may not even have tried it out yet. ask for a test as a way to confirm.
