Great tablet for that purpose. If you have an HDMI input for you stereo buy a Google Chromecast and you can easily push Panadora etc. to you sound system. It is an excellent entertainment device for serving Netflix or HBO GO, Hulu, etc.

You can download your music from another device onto an SD card and just stick it in the slot and run it from whatever program you choose. I use the Google Play music (already downloaded free) similar to iTunes.

music is probably one of the best things I like about mine. there is Samsung Milk which is similar to Pandora, etc. It is awesome. I purchased Jet Music for mine, and I love it. You can store your songs on a micro sd.
