Yes you can play movies from the Google Play store downloaded and then transfer them to the SD card, the only thing I don't like is that you can't do transfers automatically

You can set google play to save straight to the sd card.

I'm not sure if this will help. Try to download sdcard application with play store and it help you tranfer the movies from the table to the sdcard
