I have a generic HDD that connects via USB. It works perfectly with the Tab S3.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have been trying to do this and have not been able to get it to work. I have external USB drives with their own power supplies and still cannot get the device to read them. I have only been able to get a flash card reader to work. I just tried using a Samsung laptop SATA HDD with a dedicated power supply. Still cannot get the table to see it. I think because HDD's need drivers and Samsung just has not loaded them in to their tablets. If you google "Connect external hard drive to a Galaxy tablet." there are some devices out there that claim to do this, but I haven't tried any of them yet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would think only if you used an external power supply to power up the HDD. I don't think the Galaxy tab would have enough juice to power up the external HDD.
