I was at the cell store last night and I was told that the bluetooth feature should work up to 30 feet away.

Not on this one because it's bluetooth. It would have to be lte for it to work that way. What you can do is just have your cell in back pocket or carry a backpack that way your cell is always close by but out of the way

I have this watch. You can download purchased music to your watch and listen without bluetooth. I have a Note 4 and the watch can only be about 30ft away before bluetooth cuts out.
