The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 does not yet have the ability to measure Glucose directly as a Dexcom or Freestyle CGM can. Currently, "Raman Spectroscopy" is not currently a feature on any watch. Apple, for instance, says that feature is not coming for another "three to seven years" according to most news outlets. From what I understand, however, Dexcom users can install a widget onto their watch that will display their Glucose readings on the watch, but still ultimately requires an Android-compatible phone. For example, if you have your watch on and you go out, but leave your smart device at home, you will not receive any CGM updates.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The phone does not measure glucose. User must take a reading with a glucometer then log the reading. The watch accepts manual input of glucose reading through the app on your phone. The app input has a section for "fasting", "after meal", etc. and a useful space for input of notes.
