When I plug everything up correctly, the phone charges but no picture..... null

Try altering the order in which you plug in the cords. Mine will not work with the charger plugged in and only if I plug the adapter into the phone then the hdmi into the adapter.

I had the same issue initially, I ended up switching the power sources. I was originally using the fast chargers, but ended up going back to one of the regular one's, and it worked perfect. With that said though, I was using an S4 and a fast charger, so those two technically aren't supposed to be to compatible. My advice though, is if you are using a fast charger, try using a regular one. Hopefully that will do the trick.
