Samsung's website says further down the product description page that it can be upgraded to SSD and SSD is sold separately. The key specs on the Best Buy product description are incorrect as far as I can tell by doing some extra research this afternoon. Thanks for the question because it prompted me to call Best Buy and get a partial refund for the misleading information.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I purchased this laptop based on the same information you are referring to on the specs. Funny even the description on Samsung's website lists conflicting info. NP530E5M-X02US Notebook 5 15.6" 4.5 OUT OF 5 STARS (2) Featuring an Intel® Core™ i7 Processor and Windows 10 Home OS 15.6" FHD LED Display (1920x1080 dots) and a 1TB (HDD) + 128GB (SSD) Storage "Out of the box, the Notebook 5 is loaded with a 7th Gen Intel® Core™ i5 Processor, an impressive 1TB hard drive and 8GB of RAM.* Any time you want more speed, you can easily upgrade the HDD to an SSD to cut down on load time or additional RAM so you can do more at once." I had the same question you did when trying to decide if I should buy this laptop. It seems I may have purchased this unit in error due to the incorrect info Best Buy and Samsung have on their site. I will be calling Best Buy customer service today to complain. This conflicting info is distressing to say the least. There is a sticker on the box that lists the specs and it does say: SSD No. Perhaps that is our answer right there. I think I have been duped with misinformation. Hope you can see the pic.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.unfortunately, what i got has a ssd but has a battery inside of it, so that it does not lose the memory when you change/replace it. the hdd drive is under the computer and is accessible with 3 mini Philips head screws.
