“Will the First Alert smoke detectors work with this or do they have to be ADT?”

• They will work through Works With SmartThings platform, but the will NOT alert ADT professional monitoring. You can use the First Alert smoke detectors for self-monitoring through the SmartThings application.

• Everything has to the SmartThings ADT. Not even regular SmartThings sensors work. So no, you need the SmartThings ADT smoke detector.
