Yes, there are range extenders. Also, zwave creates a mesh network so assuming there aren't too many hops, putting devices (plugs/etc.) every 50ft or less should help. Since most Z-Wave Plus repeaters are around $30, you're better off just buying another SmartThings plug and making something else "smart".

Z-Wave and Zigbee devices create a mesh network, so the more devices you have the stronger the network. If you don't have a lot of devices, you can always purchase a Z-Wave or Zigbee extender.
