“I have a Samsung sound bar and a Sony tv ( hd1080.) is this blue ray compatible for sound bar? Will I need additional wires? I see there is no optical connection on player.”

you need HDMI cord to plug blue ray into your TV! Sound bar will automatically play what's coming through the TV
