Also, it says it has HDMI in and out. I don't see that on the player, nor is it mentioned anywhere else.

Yes, this upscales DVD and only has HDMI out.

The unit has HDMI out, not in. Don't know about up scaling.

It does have an HDMI output! (no input though) ALL BLU-RAY PLAYERS do! I don't know about up-scaling though. Maybe someone else can help with that question??

I saw on the back of the product that it has a hdmi out.
