• As far as backup yes, and i used it on my PC and my galaxy notebook so i dont see why it wouldnt work on a macair

• Yes, you can back up data from your Windows laptop using this storage device. Not sure about the use on Mac Air but I'm assuming it will work from my experience with this new storage device is that I tried to connect it to my old iPhone 8 Plus device and would not connect or detect the storage device on the iPhone 8 Plus. Just make sure you use the new Apple cable cord or Apple adapters when using it on the Apple Mac Air.
