I bought this SSD for my 2011 13" MBP and it works fine. Make sure to format the SSD in OSX disk utility. You need to erase the drive and format it into OS X extended journal. After that is should be up and running. Only thing is I wish I bought a 240+ gb ssd.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't see why not. I did this on a 2012 MacBook. Can use a program called SuperDuper to clone the drive before switching it out.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have a non retina MacBook with a dvd rom YES is compatible because all the retina version instead of being a hard drive they have a solid state but is a special ssd card no regular 2.5 hard drives.

A hard drive is a hard drive. An SSD is an SSD. Mac and PC just use different formats for their drives, but any drive new or old can be reformatted as needed. I recently installed one of these in my Macbook Pro 13' Mid-2012 and have been enjoying it immensely. Consider cloud storage, an external hard drive, or network attached storage though to store most of your files, because 120GB isn't a lot of space at all, but the read/write speed of just having macOS and other crucial software installed on the SSD is unbeatable!
