Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The faceplate could be painted, however as it is not specifically meant to be painted so we cannot guarantee any long term results. As for the external cord, this is not paintable, but could be replaced with a standard 15A, 3-prong straight blade extension cord. Hope this helps!
