“I had my new 60" tv installed on this mount and now I need to shift the TV laterally about 6" since I have a new couch placed in front of it. I've tried to do that but it isn't budging. Do I need to use tools to move the tv from left to right?”

No. Pull down on the two rubber rings at the bottom, that will release the bottom attach points. Then you can lift and slide the tv. Once you have it where you want it just push gently in on bottom of your tv to relock it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Pull down the plastic rings on the back. Make sure two people do it. One each. This free the tv from the wall mount. If the tv is riton the center, you should be able to move it a few inches.
