It comes with several types and lengths of screws for wallmounting in sheetrock or brick. Just make sure you put the screws into wall studs. I ended up buying 6-8 inch long screws because I had to drill through a rock fireplace and did not trust mounting directly to the stones. Now I can probably do pull ups on the thing, it is solid. As for the size of the bracket, it is about 24 inches long by I'd say about 8-10 inches tall.
