Will this TV mount work on a brick fireplace? null

Yes. I gave it on a brick fireplace, recommendation of geek squad. Also you can’t have one that goes in all directions. Only tilt up & down

Yes, that is where mine is mounted but I did use heave duty shelf brackets to extend it out further. I already had the shelf brackets spaced just right for a different tv so I had to Mount 2x4's to the shelf brackets then Mount the Sanus tv wall mount to the 2x4's. Works great and very strong. (P.S. I don't use the fireplace anymore, it was too much of a hassle and pulled heat out of the rest of the house).
