“Is there anything I need to buy in addition so that when I mount this I can hide the cables? Or is that a whole other thing? What do I do? I'm new to this.”

In order to hide the wires you would have to put holes in the wall and run the wires through the wall yourself. Or they make strips that you can put on your wall that hide the wires, but you just have a white stripe going up your wall.
