“Can this be mounted into wood studs that are oriented with the 3.5" side against the drywall? I have a 46" tv currently mounted in this fashion. Replacing with larger 65" TV. New TV is ~3lbs heavier. Studs are nailed into fireplace brick wall behind.”

I can swap provided screws with shorter lag screws, 1 1/2 or 1 3/4 in length, but will this be enough of an anchor? When I installed the current mount (5yrs ago) that is what I had to do. Obviously no issues, but this is a larger TV (albeit not much heavier), so I just want to be sure it is enough.
