• Yes. Used this mount for my 77" AG9, although seemed a bit light-duty for that large of a TV. Should be fine for the 55". The Sony SU-WL855 Wall-Mount Bracket is specifically designed for the AG9's, so it's very heavy-duty and allows the TV to be very close to the wall (0.86"), but it doesn't offer vertical tilt like this Sanus and it costs a lot more.

• Absolutely, I have a 75” Samsung TV and this holds my TV intact. The best part of it is the tilt. It’s awesome! Get it. I recommend it

• Yes we used it for a 65” Sony but it does go by weight so just be sure to check it.
