You shouldn't have any issues. The file format is the same, and I just used this on my early 2011 MacBook Pro. You also don't need to worry about the SATA speed as it's not going to affect your older product. It's just saying that it will work with faster drives.

Please try again later.Your Mac should have a solid state drive in it so the stock hard drive in the Mac I think should be better then any Seagate HHD u are looking at in reguards to speed and downloading programs etc. memory boost would be the only pro but u can purchase and external hhd for that. And it’s essier
