A:AnswerYes, it will work just fine. The system performance will be about the same but you'll have 4x the storage capacity of the standard 500gb drive Sony provides.
After play station OS install and updates you'll have around 1.8TB left to use.
A:AnswerYes, this will fit into your PS4 perfectly (I have one in mine) and after OS installation for your PS4 you will have about 1.77 TB free memory. IGN has a great guide on how to upgrade your PS4 hard drive, however you will also need a computer that can access the internet and a 2.0 USB stick with at least 1GB of memory
A:AnswerDid you want to use it as internal hard drive? If yes; this isn't what you want. First of all it contains a 3.5" hard drive (laptops that don't have an SSD use a 2.5' Hard drive). Secondly, it contains a generic labeled Western Digital RED drive which are designed for a NAS to store data. They are not designed to be used as your primary (also known as the C: drive). Get yourself a Western Digital Black or Blue hard drive for your laptop and I think you'll be very happy.
Hope this helps...
A:AnswerThis is entirely up to you but I would choose whichever drive is fastest for the OS and use the other drive as storage. Most likely the bigger the drive, the slower it is. Most drives this size are only 5400rpm and better drives are 7200rpm. The best option would be to run your OS off of a SSD and use the other drive to store your big files. SSD drives are about 5 times faster than even the 7200rpm drives. I hope this answered your question, good luck!!!
A:AnswerI would recommend doing a clean Windows install if possible. The operating system is probably corrupt or has a virus. Back up all your data first before you do it. With a fresh version of Windows you can rule out the possibility of a bad drive or other hardware issues with your pc. I hope this answers your question, good luck!!!
A:AnswerYou shouldn't have any issues. The file format is the same, and I just used this on my early 2011 MacBook Pro. You also don't need to worry about the SATA speed as it's not going to affect your older product. It's just saying that it will work with faster drives.
A:AnswerYes this drive will work for your Lenovo. Geek squad can install it for you for about $159 the last time I checked. They will transfer all your old data and OS to it as well. Hope this answered your question, good luck!!!
A:AnswerThe installation process is very simple. Before you begin that process, however, make sure you have the update file you will need to get the PS4 up and running after you replace the drive. (You can find instructions for downloading this file at https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/system-updates/ps4/)
Although the instructions state that you can use the PS4 itself to get the upgrade for this from the internet, I was not able to get that to work. I found that I needed to get the PS4 update file installed on a flash drive that is 2 GB or smaller (FAT32 format). If your flash drive is larger than 2 GB, you will need to partition it to 2GB or smaller partitions -- the PS4 won't recognize larger drives for this purpose.
Before taking our the current hard drive, I would also recommend backing up all games and files on the current hard drive to the PS4 network and/or to an external hard drive (I had problems trying to use a 2TB external drive for this, but had success with a 1TB drive).
To install the drive in a PS4, first make sure the PS4 is turned off and unplugged. Next, remove the plastic covering over the existing drive. That covering is the smaller side of the covering, over about 1/3 of the machine. Be careful taking this off, so you don't crack the tabs on it. (I found it easy to take off by gently pulling towards the side and upward.)
You then to remove the screw holding the existing drive in place, and slide the drive out. Note how the drive sits in the metal casing, so you can properly place the new drive into the casing, and then remove the 4 screws holding the drive in place. Place the new drive into the metal casing, and replace the 4 screws to hold it into the casing. Slide the casing into the PS4, and replace the screw to hold it in place. Carefully replace the cover.
When you plug in the PS4, you should be able to follow the on-screen instructions to get up and running.
