“What is the difference between the 8TB expansion external drive and the 8TB backup external drive?”

• This Expansion drive does not have a USB hub built in like the backup drive does. Also the backup drive states it comes with backup software. So, no hub & no backup software.

• I believe the difference is in the warranty. Expansion series is only 1 year, external/backup Plus is 2 years. Still pretty crummy since in the "old" days, (not that long ago, 5 years?), 3 years was standard and 5 typically available. In case interested, their internal drives are 3 years, and SSDs and enterprise internal drives are 5 years. Unfortunately, without doing research on each and every drive you may want to buy, the warranty is NOT readily findable.
