A:AnswerTechnically, the optical audio input is supposed to be the better one. That is what Sennheiser prefers you use for their entertainment wireless headphones. But both are viable options, and it just comes down to what capabilities your TV has and what your preferences are.
A:AnswerYES, YES, AND YES!!! The RS-175 is astounding. I had the RS-180 for 7 years and paid $300 for them, but these sound much better for under $200.
A:AnswerWhy would you hook them up to what is, essentially, a speaker? To listen to TV, DVD, etc. hook them to the TV via a optical cable. Your headphones are the speakers.
A:AnswerMake sure the switch on the back is on digital. Should only have to use the optical cable. The one supplied didn't work for me. I had to buy a better quality one.
A:AnswerA: From another user but worked for me too: I have a Samsung smart TV and had the same problem but with this solution headphones work perfectly. First when regular TV was on I went to the menu and changed the sound to PCM. Then it was necessary to start Netflix and again to use the menu to go to sound settings and change once again to PCM. Merely changing the sound in TV mode was not sufficient. Now headphones work perfectly.
A:AnswerIdk... mine are set up using the optical cord. I think your gonna need to switch whatever is using thebootical to HDMI since the headphones don't have any other source... it'll be worth it. The sound on these are awesome...only problem is my girlfriend can still here the sound but it's low and she can still sleep if I'm up watching a movie...
