If you have, for example, ceiling fans which keep the air moving it will be more effective in your situation.

It cleans the air in an open space up to 1200 sq ft. It will not function properly for other rooms that only have a door opening. In a smaller room it cleans the air many times an hour. In the larger areas it takes the better part of an hour to clean the air once.
