A:AnswerSadly, no it does not...and, the beep is quite loud; plus, it's a series of 3 loud beeps when finished cooking.
Otherwise: this is a really nice unit, and a good value at the price. Has lots of features; and, the door opens and closes much more quietly than previous models...we like it. So: I'm considering opening it up, and putting a damper over the speaker, to mute the sound somewhat.
Haven't found a microwave, white or otherwise, in this size that allows you to turn off sound. Our previous Sharp had that feature...but, it was 17 years old; they don't make 'em like they used to.

A:AnswerUnplug the oven from the wall socket & wait 1 minute; then plug the oven back into the wall socket. That solved the same problem that I was experiencing.
A:AnswerMy microwave does not respond at all with the POWER LEVEL button alone.. or in combination with the keypad as instructions tell us..
Here is what Customer service told me to do and it's a pain but it works
1. press: TIME COOK
2.Set amount of cooking time you desire on keypad
3. Press POWER LEVEL
4. Chose desired Power Level number on the keypad
5.( Default is PL-10)
6. Press POWER LEVEL
7. Press desired power level on number keypad
A:AnswerHello Densy, please perform the below steps to adjust the power level:
1. Press "TIME COOK' once, the display will show "00:00"
2. Press the appropriate number keys to input the desired cooking time for example 1,5,0,0 for 15 minutes.
3. Press " Power" once , the display will show "PL10". The default power is 100% power. Now you can press number keys to adjust the power level. Press 5 for 50% power for example. "PL5" will show on the display.
4. Press " START/ +30 SEC." to start cooking.
