QuestionThis is the same size/model we had before. HOWEVER, it does not cook the same! I used to do popcorn in a paper bag for 2m5sec and would have 10 widows. Now, it takes 4 minutes and half the amount of kernels are left unpopped. Any adjustments possible?

QuestionWhat does this microwave weigh?

- Answer It weighs 50 lbs. This is a "family model" and it is quite large. My friends placed it on the counter for me, and I had to cut the carton open on all four sides to slide the unit out onto the counter. The recommendation to keep it at least 4" from other surfaces on all sides means you it will require lots of counter space. I'm enjoying my unit.

- Answer Hello Robert, this unit can either operate the kitchen time or heat the food. This unit is not able to do both operations at the same time.

- Answer No, the grill you may see in the photo has a protective covering over it, so cleaning continues to be easy. I just rechecked to make sure that it wasn't plastic that I forgot to remove and no, it is just a protective covering.

QuestionMy Sharp Carousel 1200 watts, “Power Level” when I try to cook my food at 50% only shows PL 10. I keep presses but it doesn’t change. What Am I doing wrong or is this a defect? Also, I did not got a Sharp Manuel how to operate the buttons .

- Answer To change the power level, hit the "power level" button, then hit "5" for 50% power, 4 for 40% etc.

QuestionCan you tell me the FOOTING dimensions of the SMC2242DS Sharp? We need to know the distance from the edges of the microwave to each foot, to ensure that it will fit on the trim piece we currently have in the cutout. Thank you!

- Answer Hello, the length from the front of the unit to the front feet is approximately 2 inches, and the length from the back of the unit to the back feet is approximately 3 1/2 inches. The exact dimension from the back of the unit to the front feet is 16 ¾ inches.

- Answer My Sharp Microwave Oven, Model SMC224208, 2.2 cu. ft is kept on my kitchen counter-top, not in a cabinet. I was surprised that the bulge in the back of the microwave was as large as it was, taking up 5 1/4" of space from the back wall of the counter to the start of the back of the microwave cabinet itself, with the plug placed into the protruding electrical surge-protector. As a result, the microwave only JUST fits on the 23 1/4" deep counter, and with only 1/2 inch to spare if front of the microwave door.

QuestionI recently purchased Model # SMC2242DS and when I cook food condensation forms between the glass on the door. It can't be wipe off and it takes hours for the condensation to dissipate. Seems to be a leak in the door seal. Is this normal?

- Answer The outside dimensions of the Sharp Microwave Oven, Model SMC2242DS are: (W x H x D) 24.1 x 13.8 x 19.8 inches The cavity dimensions are: (W x H x D) 17,1 x 11.5 x 18.9 inches However, when this microwave was placed on my kitchen counter, we discovered a bulge on the back of the microwave, so that the space between the back of the cabinet and the plug for an electrical surge plug took up 5 1/4" inches of space, and, as a result, the entire microwave only JUST fitted my 23 1/4" deep counter-top, with about 1/2" inch to spare between the front of the counter and the microwave door.
