• This is hard to answer because this controller is programmed with the signal from the original tv remote.

• This is an add on for sound bars or aux items that your roku remote won't control. I have mine controling my a/v receiver. You have to put sideclick ir to ir at front of remote to program whatever function you want the buttons to perform.
