No you do not need to have WiFi service to view the system or make changes. You can access the system via the keypad, or the app, or by logging into your account from the online website.

I have the first generation which works great with my set up. Yes you have to have wifi in order to view if you have the camera setup. I plan to add to ths system for now I have 3 cameras on the inside, and have two camera outside which I had to order the outdoor kit for the cameras to mount for 20.00 each. Worth it. You get 25ft wire and rubber housing to go around camera to protect it from the weather. I highly recommend this system. No wires to cut, you have the mobile app to monitor the system, and you can add up to 10 cameras and extra door contacts and sensors. Love the system easy to install and 24.99 for monitoring, its cheaper than soectrum.
