We have SimpliSafe system connected in our home.I would love to purchase this camera to connect with our simplisafe system for easy viewing but I would like to take the camera on the road with us in our RV will it work away from the base station with wifi null

The problem is that the camera uses your WiFi system during set up so it’s not going to log onto another WiFi system like a hotel’s WiFi internet. You might be able to delete your home WiFi address in the camera’s security set up but to reprogram your camera sounds tedious and negates the camera’s security program

It needs to be connected to the wifi that’s connected to your base station. Take the base station with you and you will have no problem.

Just purchase another base station. This camera is not that good in my opinion. Use the indoor outdoor cam, way better.

No it has to connect to the base. If you take the base with you, you can use it; otherwise, no.

Hi! Technically yes, the Indoor Camera can work independently, so long as you have WiFi.

It does, however, require a very stable and fast connection, since video takes up a lot of data that needs to be sent quickly. So the camera may not work very well when connected to a WiFi hotspot or satellite internet.
