You can talk to and hear individuals through the doorbell camera with or without monitoring using the Simplisafe app. In my experience there is a delay of about 3 seconds regardless of internet quality. You will receive a notification that someone is at the door, and upon reviewing the notification your phone will open to your doorbell camera in “live” mode. You will be able to hear the audio outside of your door. To speak you have to press the microphone button. It’s not true two way audio
