• No, you can use it without hiding wires. If you want them hidden and aren't comfortable taking the molding off and replacing it, I would take it in, but it is relatively simple to set up.

• I installed this receiver myself in my 2010 Corolla. You just plug it into your AUX outlet and also into your cigarette lighter port. Very simple to do yourself.
