Over time I have used several 'auto' XM systems. I have also tried one of the 'boombox' types. All of these had similar problems, namely small screens and very small buttons/controls. I wouldn't recommend them for your application. I suggest you check out the Sirius/XM site for 'Home' XM systems (or possibly Crutchfield). They have a couple that look like they have larger controls. They look more like stand alone radios. I'm not sure about how they might interface with an AV system.

Depending on what the sirius receiver came with, you may need a 1/8" mini-jack to RCA stereo cable and a power supply that can adapt to your Sirius receiver. The car adapter plugs into a 12 volt power port that can be plugged into your homes power outlet. The 1/8" to RCA cable goes from the Sirius receiver to a stereo input on your home receiver. I'm using one this way and it works fine. You will also need an antenna that you can use indoors. There may be a home kit that contains all you need depending on which Sirius/XM receiver you buy.
