“I have a 2015 Toyota Venza with XM built-in and active on the factory stereo.. if I buy a new head unit (XM ready of coarse) do I still need a new tuner or do I not need to worry about that? I've seen conflicting answers.”

If you replace your Toyota Head Unit with any aftermarket head unit that is SXM ready you will need a new SiriusXM tuner such as the SXV300V1.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.All the head units that I researched during my purchase, required the tuner. Even those that say "XM ready." I went with a JVC head unit (KW-M780BT) and it did require the tuner. I had Geek Squad install everything, and the XM tuner remains hidden except of course the Satellite Radio Antenna.
