It's an expansion option, you can get a factory xm or sirius tuner or an aftermarket interface and maybe this siriusxm tuner. I've done a few of these installs.

It was an option that likely could have been added at time of purchase. Unfortunately SiriusXM - Connect Satellite Radio Vehicle Tuner enable only "SiriusXM Ready" aftermarket head units. Aside from that tuner, any plug and play radio like the Onyx can be connected and installed in any vehicle.
