Sonos needs internet connection to work. One day my ISP internet went down and even though I was using my cell phone internet to play Spotify it wasnt pushing any sound to the sonos devices. In my router logs it seems it needs to make constant connection to their SONOS servers to allow the music to play.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can use it to play stored music on a laptop, possibly a phone or Ipod, but it would be more limited. I believe that if you can connect to your computer, it will run.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You should be able to use your Sonos speakers without the Internet. All you need is a Wi-Fi network in your own and have your music stored on your phone or laptop. Sonos speakers do not require the Internet only a good Wi-Fi network
