Can two Sonos Ones be paired for stereo output? null

Spoke with Paul in Sonos sales Dept today and he said that if you want to pair them to each other for stereo sound in the same room they both need to be the new (or old) device. You can't mix the two. Otherwise works with all legacy speakers to create your Sonos network.
