As far as I know, it won't work with a Play 1. It can only be paired with One or another One SL.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Sonos One SL can not be used as a rear speaker with a Play:1. The rear speakers must both have the same name. The Sonos One SL can be used in a stereo pair with a Sonos One with voice as they have the same name the SL just signifies the lack of a microphone.
