No receiver needed it won’t help do anything just one wire to your tv. You can add speakers as you want all you need is a plug
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it can be linked to a receiver directly - but you must use an optical audio cable for the input to the playbase from the receiver. I have mine connected direct to the TV with the optical audio cable.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The only physical input is through an optical cable (included). If you receiver has an optical output, it should work through the Sonos. But I don't know why you'd want to do this -- surely your receiver already has good speakers.
