No remote. I was worried too. The app is user friendly however you can pair your remote with it for easier use so you don’t have to use the app. This site helps guide you through all kinds of remotes.

There is no remote. In my case I pointed my Xfinity remote at the Playbase, pressed the volume control, and it started controlling Playbase volume automatically.

we own this, the remote is an APP on your phone, iPad, pc etc..
