“Purchased Sony Bravia xbr55 and HTCT790 sound bar. Connected with supplied hdmi cable. The two are not compatible: cannot get the home menu to display. Tried each and every hdmi port, 1 - 4. How do I link the sub woofer under these conditions?”

Did you plug it into the HDMI arc on the soundbar? I put it into the wrong one at first. I have called Sony customer quite a few times to set this up. They are great and free.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the Sony 65 inch and the 790 soundbar. I used the supplied HDMI cable. You have to plug the cable into the HDMI ports labeled ARC on both the Soundbar and the TV. The Sounbat remote should provide a display. Following the instructions in the booklet the Subwoofer linked immediately.
