Currently using system in home office. Great sound and range of vocals. Not on par with my Sonos system but it's a great buy if using it in a small room (14x17). Very easy to Bluetooth pair devices. All in all, an excellent system for 4K setup.

Easy Setup with the Startup Guide
Great sound lows & highs
Good Bass from the sub
This system lays back we were able to set ours straight up. Can be wall mounted
4 HDMI In / 1 HDMI out + TV In optical & more
If your tv has a hdmi input labeled ARC you just need a hdmi cable to hook it to the tv.
If tv has no hdmi ARC input you will have to have a optical cable with the hdmi cable.
If your tv has no hdmi ARC input or TV in optical your out of luck
We paired this with the (XBR65X900C waiting 30 days to review)
After we got it setup we moved the sub around the room to find the best sound using the same scene every time ; it will stay linked up when you plug it in again. Our Subwoofer is placed 15ft away from the tv & soundbar and stays in sync. Blu-ray,DTV box etc. plugs into the soundbar. Luv It

I am very pleased with the sound bar. I bought it open box through BestBuy online. The unit was spotless. no fingerprints no dings nothing. It was virtually brand new. At first i was a bit disappointed as it was not as immersive as i felt it was in the store. However, after listening to it for the past 5 days I am stating to really appreciate the sound. It is a very capable sound bar with lots of options including casting, wifi and Bluetooth. The only issue I have so far is that when paired it to my Vizio M55-D0 it never defaults to the input that I need to watch cable when i turn on the soundbar. If Sony were to update the software to allow me to choose what input I want it to pull from on startup I would make this 5-stars. But because of that I always need the Sony soundbar remote near by.
The bass is adequate for me. I live in an apartment and cant have booming bass. but when its needed you do feel it. I still need to adjust the placement of the sub. Maybe that will help the surround sound..sound like "surround sound".

The Sony sound bar I purchased as an open box item it was only missing a remote that didn't matter cause it worked with my Sony tv. I say it's great because I got the cops called on me from my downstair neighbors because the movie was playing too loud... Great sound quality... Apparently they don't like The Lord of the Rings. Who knew...

I bought this sound bar to pair with a Sony 4k television, and am very happy with the sound quality. I also like that turning on the television also turns on the sound bar, except that it doesn't work 100% of the time and the separate sound bar control has to be used. A little frustrating when Sony products don't talk to each other. I also planned to put the sound bar on top of a cabinet, in front of the television, as shown in an illustration I saw on line. I found this did not work at all, as the sound bar was high enough that it blocked the remote from talking to the television. Apparently the receiving unit on the TV is on the bottom of the TV. Finding a new spot for the sound bar was not easy, especially as the cables that connect the two are not very long.

The sound quality is very good and much improved over the sound from my TV. You should note that no optical cable was included. The device is "smart" and interacts with my TV, which leads to a bit of confusion. I have to turn the device on with it's own remote but it knows to shut itself off when I turn the TV off.

This Soundbar is by far the best Soundbar on the market for the price. The sound is good enough. It’s not over the top awesome but we use it in a 14x14 room and it’s plenty loud. Also this sound bar is one of the few on the market that has 3 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output! I highly recommend this Soundbar !!

Bang for the buck as it was on clearance at my close by store picked it up for $320 or something close. It has 4K pass through. Wifi works great and very easy to pair. Firmware update is recommended once you setup and then connectivity is easy be it over hdmi (3 inputs) or be it wifi. Work great for a small size family room or a secondary soundbar. If you don't have a a lot of space this could easily your primary home theater quality sound due to the alignment of speaker in the bar and wireless sub. 4 starts because there are better options out there but for the price point best quality sound for a small to average size living room.

After buying our new Sony 55 inch 4K HTD TV and using our old surround sound system we decided that we needed better quality sound. Having 30 foot ceiling in our family room this small sound bar provides high quality sound

I got this to replace Samsung HW-K550/ZA, which has many issues over the connection. For this Sony HT-CT790, it provides decent sound and good bass. There are 2 issues that I am not 100% satisfied, Google chrome extension (the latest version) on my laptop cannot find this device, and by playing the audio through wi-fi instead of bluetooth, it's only limited to two apps so far "Play Music" from google and iHeartRaido, and it does not work every time...it happens pretty often that the music is playing on my smartphone but no sound came out from the soundbar. I believe this is not just the corner case for my sound bar bc this is already my 2nd one but the same issue exist. Except this two issues above, it's a pretty good soundbar overall. I enjoy watching movies with this soundbar pretty much. One more positive thing about this soundbar is that, the interference between WI-FI and bluetooth is much less, unlike Samsung HW-K550/ZA that has horrible interference. My internet speed via wi-fi dropped to 3mbps when I had bluetooth ongoing in that soundbar and I don't find this issue in this SONY soundbar.

I love my new sound bar. It is the our first purchase of a sound bar. Sounds amazing.. Would have loved to have lots of speakers with it and maybe more volume to add to the subwoofer. Other than that.. Every Saturday and Sunday..this is connected from my phone upstairs while still in bed and I am able to listen to my music without having to go downstairs to turn it on. AMAZING

I recently upgraded my TV (after 7 years) to a Sony 4K HDR, and decided to buy this soundbar to go with it. I am so glad I did, it makes the experience so much better. This soundbar works as as a sound system, you plug in all your devices to the soundbar and it shows the connections on the TV. One remote for everything! Very happy with my TV and this soundbar!

This is the first sound bar we've purchased.
It was easy to set up with the included setup guide. It comes with a 4K cable which we hooked up to the ARC input on the TV. (If you don't have ARC you'll need an optical cable for the audio). We plugged the blu-ray player and cable box into the sound bar and everything worked seamlessly.
The room we have this in is open to the kitchen, with an 18 foot ceiling. The sound fills the room with no problems.
Watching movies with this brings a great theater experience to the home, with clear highs and mids and loud but not muddy bass. Take some time to move the subwoofer around and you will be rewarded for your effort. The remote has two volume controls that lets you change the volume on the sub separately from the sound bar.

The Sony 790 sound bar is one of the best available for the price. It provide a much better audio quality to the tv's existing speakers and makes watching content on your tv come to life. There are very few sound bars out there that provide the features and quality for the price. The sync compatibility for Sony tvs and the 4k cdmi pass through is amazing. It's a great value

So far I've only used this soundbar to listen to my TV, but the sound quality over just using the TV speakers is significant. Some of the custom sound options are nice, and it's good to have a subwoofer too. At 100% volume it's not terribly loud, but it's good enough for my needs. Installation was easy.

The TV speakers on our new Sony are pretty good but once we hooked this soundbar up we realized what we were missing!! I was looking at a number of soundbars for the past few months and was torn between multiple sony products as well as a much more expensive bose system. I would have liked to buy the more expensive ones but for what we needed this is the perfect system. The sound is great, it paired up well with the sony tv and with our wifi, and the price was perfect. The subwoofer is nice but I wish it was a little louder (I already have the bass turned up).

Sound is great for watching movies and just about any program. The way you can break the sound bar apart and have rear speaker surround sound or charge the 1 speaker and use it with bluetooth music is wonderful options.
