I just ordered this tv (800e) not only is it HDR also has a far better processor. It has the same processor as all of the high end Sony’s have. With the display, HDR and processor it’s a no brained to get the 800e.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Our X800 has only a 43" screen and at that size there probably isn't much difference with HDR. But at larger sizes, I bet you'd regret not getting HDR. The way I looked at it , images delivered by whatever source will only get better and better so I wanted to get a better TV than I really needed without breaking the budget buying the absolute top-of-the-line models. I plan to keep this TV for a long time so the extra $150 was a small price to pay if I wanted to be happy for the next 10 years or so.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 720 has basic smart TV capabilities, and this TV has Android TV built in. That plus HDR make it well worth the difference. HDR is arguably a better picture quality improvement than 4k over 1080p.
