The 700 is direct LED lit. The 800 is edge lit. 800 has Triluminos, 700 does not. 800 uses significantly less juice. 130 watts on the 800 and 171 on the 700. All of this was found on Sony’s website
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m not sure exactly but it looks like the resolution plays a big roll in the difference. I may be wrong. I also noticed the the 700 D does not have HDR, a newer Sony’s enhancement of the picture quality
