Hi Rob, It will depend on the specifications of the connected device. HDMI 2 and 3 ports are designed to handle High-Quality HDMI formats (4K 60p 4:2:0 10bit, 4:4:4:, 4:2:2 etc.). Lower HDMI formats will work on all HDMI ports.
